Don't we all have our first platforms we'll remember, cherish and defend with our honor? -
@netikras Funny story about the machine in back: it had to be shut down and when it came back up it wouldn't attach to the external disk array. After several panicky hours on a Sunday night it turned out the battery on the raid controller had died; quick run to the 7-11 across the street saved production starting on Monday morning.

@Gophyr yep, they were pulled in working condition. The one in front had its covers removed for some reason to get it out of the server room.

Gophyr18937y@tachoknight would you by chance be looking for a new home for them where they'd still be used? I might know someone who would be interested. -
@Gophyr I'll ask my boss what is gonna happen to them and report back. They're in Chicago.
-
Gophyr18937y@tachoknight cool, thanks. The reason I ask is that I know someone who was directly involved in the development of the processor inside those things. -
@Gophyr boss is out today but back tomorrow, haven't forgotten and will update you when I talk to him.

@Gophyr Sorry, but apparently the recyclers were helping getting the equipment out of the room; went straight into the truck and to parts unknown.
