Mizz14176286yAs a Swiss person, VOTE NO FOR THE "SELBSTBESTIMMUNGS INITIATIVE" Its the Biggest BS the SVP (Schweizerische Volks Partei) has ever fucking made.
-
@Mizz141 but muh dirty immigrants I cant deport back to Syria!!!
No, No, Yes is pretty much the only sane decision I can think of -
@Mizz141
Horn cow: No
Selbstbestimmungsintiative (WTF does that even mean in English?): No
Private Detectives: Yes -
That is pretty cool, I wish we got to vote on stuff like that too. Having said that,
@Linux ideally, yes, realistically...not always. -
@Linux @RememberMe The system is that you can get (almost) everything to a vote, regardless how mindnumbingly stupid it seems. All you have to do is getting 10'000 signature of adult swiss citizens. So basically I could say "Starting 01.01.2022, all sausages are to be outlawed" and if I get 10'000 people to sign that petition, it'll get a vote.
It's a great system, undoubtedly. I just think they should adapt the 10k signatures to todays population, so maybe raise it to 30k or 50k -
Referenda are the worst thing ever invented.
How can I as someone who has never even touched a cow decide what is best. Let a group of farmers, animal welfare and whoever else might have knowledge inform the people you have chosen to make decisions for you. -
Linux438106y@Codex404
And how can politician decide what normal people should do when they are not having any financial struggle in life? -
@Codex404 So you mean to tell me, thr banker in Zurich downtown who has to read the Wikipedia article on cows first isnt able to choose the nest option?
That was so funny and sad how a couple of years ago, before the vote on which new jets the swiss army should get, everybody suddenly became an expert on that subject overnight -
@Linux no it shouldnt.. Misinformation is a shitty thing. In the netherlands we had a vote about a treaty the EU has with Ukraine. Most people voted against it because they didnt want ukrainians coming here to work. But that part has never been in the treaty (it even stated specifically that that was not the case)
For the vote it didnt matter the outcome because we already signed it and the netherlands was the only country against it. So no matter the outcome the treaty would pass.
The no vote just showed that the netherlands could be a bad partner in the future since they can change opinion a week before the deadline. -
@Linux they should get informed by the people who know. A bank who gets money from them, an organization helping them etc.

Wack63116y@gathurian you're wrong about the 10k
For an initative (Eidgenössische Volksinitiative) it's actually 100'000, usually the goal is to collect at least 125k, as then the controll aren't as tough, as before, as the authorities say, even if 20% is invalid, you still reach 100k
Disclaimer, I was a member of the JUSO back in the day, when we collected signatures for 1:12 and was responsible for Winterthur during (Nahrungsmittel) Speku Stop. For us it was quite hard to reach that amount. On the other hand for eatablished parties like the SP or SVP it's pretty easy, as they have more than 100'000 members they can just send a ballot to. Other parties like the FDP or Junge SVP just pay their collectors... Just saying...
Btw. My vote was
Yes to the Cows (just because the green youth party said yes and usually they are strong on animal wellfare)
No to the SBI, because it's just a clusterfuck
No to insurance spies, because well multiple reasons but there are only 1k characters left. In short private corporations shouldn't do procecution and/or get more rights than official police forces.
Btw. I love democracy, so if you'd like to discuss any of the opinions, I'm here. (Sure I probably won't change your opinion, neither will you (probably) change mine, but yeah...) -
@Wack
> For an initative (Eidgenössische Volksinitiative) it's actually 100'000
Yeah, I was just informed about that today, my bad ^^
I voted No for the cows just because we don't need another senseless law for something nobody actually gives a shit about...
And for the private investigators I voted yes, because I'm heavily relying on social insurances myself and I think it's only fair if only these people get it who are actually in need of it. And as it's only allowed in public places, it's not really too much of a privacy invasion as such. If you cheat the insurance, that's on you mate...
But as you said: We probably won't change each others view, so that discussion is pretty useless, especially because we both probably voted already :P
