10 minutes in and I’m in love... my 8 year old windows laptop which was at this point so agonizingly slow it was barely usable, is now lightning fast

I REALLY wanna install Linux on my main lappy but I’m too skittish about losing my music production stuff

    You don't backup if it's so important to you?

    @burningcandle or I just realized I could do a vm to use my stuff, it just doesn’t have any official Linux support... hmmm..

    Welcome to Linux, the greener side of the fence! :)

    I wish I could ++ more than once but I can't. So here's another plus-plus for "lappy" : [++] :)

    @netikras That's a debatable statement that's entirely opinion based.

    @Stuxnet No it's not if you read that statement correctly.

    [The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, right? :) ]

    @netikras "Welcome to Linux, the greener side of the fence."

    False.

    @netikras don't argue with an npc, it's pointless 😂

    @Stuxnet if you feel the need to argue you've completely missed my point :)

    I entirely switched to Linux years ago.
    for sound editing 90% of the things i used to do i can still do with Audacity and it's plugins. Not gonna lie, some things I have to do manually while before (on windows/mac) I had plugins for them or ways to automate.

    Everything is replaceable, most of my day to day stuff either runs on Java (so usually works on Linux) or can be done in a web browser.
    If not they have Linux native apps.
    Worst case scenario, I boot up a Windows 10 VM , but I still won't go back to a dual boot.
