The finger print scanner on my new phone is slower than my old phone

Ha, I had a feeling that you got a OnePlus 6T, because I got one too, and I know what you mean. The cool animation compensates for that though, lol.

But other than that, the phone is fast.

The fingerprint scanner on my old phone, Moto G5 Plus, could be used to lock it as well as unlock it. Low-key miss that feature on my Pixel XL

Yeah... the in-screen scanners do work pretty well and reliably but they are slow..

Totally get the rant, my new phone’s “ultrasonic” fingerprint is so slow I sometimes just type the PIN out of frustration. Meanwhile I’m testing OCR Studio’s ID scanner SDK for a project and this thing reads a passport + verifies the photo + checks for fakes in 0.18 s on the exact same phone, 100 % offline.
