    That sucks. What did you lose?

    @Jifuna Well, to be honest, almost everything. I have to reinstall windows, linux and remove all data from hdd... Basicaly i have to format every disk and fucking build my data again. I saved only my family photos and some iso and rar files, but damn... I was so scared.

    That's why I keep my data on a remote machine on 2 or 3 mount points (still not really sure whether I should replicate on 2 or 3 drives..), expose it with Samba and allow my clients to write to one of them but only read from the other. So Windows can't fuck up everything even if it wanted to.

    As for the drives.. I think that that particular server has.. 4 internal drives, and 3 external ones hooked to it now? Some coupled in RAID-1, others in RAID-0.. mirrors from one array to a single other drive.. something like that. Eh, whatever. Data mirroring with the help of periodic backups and if possible moving your data to a dedicated server is something that you might be interested in deploying as well.

    @import-fun If only we'd be able to store our own desired data in those losses, and back it up by "injecting" it somewhere else ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    I overwrited a few parts of a 2tb encrypted image on a disk, result: cant recover anything from it, praise our lord and savior: encryption!!

    @hube Think of it this way, it's an encryption scheme turned into a one-way hash function 😁 may even be useful to script out as a sort of kill switch for when the cops get on your tail, haha.

    @Condor
    I did send request,machine denied because we didn't get certified yet.

    So I used guest account(protection) to save my data but it is equal to waste data.

    @import-fun it's probably because guests can only see the "data" on the "host-ess" with clothes on 😏 but you could try stripping her anyway! 😜

    @Condor

    If I try this then host machine will have to install anti-virus(contra Hills) because surely we don't want new node right now without certificate.
    That's why using guest account is good. I don't care much about my data,I like to enjoy process of backup.
