Tasperen9886y@davenall My bad, for now it's just a messaging app (that's the only feature it currently has, I need testers before I progress). I'm using firebase as the database (maybe this helps to improve trust?). The overall goal for it is to become a social media app
-
@Tasperen hey, I've got this trojan, it uses cutting-edge technology, which was developed by microsoft, google and facebook, does that improve trust?
If it's not obvious enough, no, just calling random stacks won't improve trust, github+apk it, else this should be reported as potential con-attempt. -
There's literally alpha and beta testing channels iirc in google play, why not do that and ask for people to apply?
not doing that already smells like some much more possible attempt at hiding something and yet still github+apk would be the only way this won't be seen as a poor malicious spreading attempt. -
Tasperen9886y@Zlytherin it's a text. The font is Bauman's. You can find it in Google fonts (also downloadable on Android studio)
-
Tasperen9886y@JoshBent I'm using those channels, I would still need emails to add to it(except the beta but my app is still in early development). Granted I could've used Google groups (which I just found out). But this is my first app that's ok publish so cut me some slack. And yeah, maybe me stating firebase won't improve trust, but I'm fairly new to android/java development so I'm not good at security with it yet. Stop being so tight about it. I'll improve as I keep working on it.
Besides I'm not forcing anyone to sign up. Ignore it if you're that worried. Hell use a fake email. -
7Raiden8786y@Tasperen I think you've missed @JoshBent point. He just said that you can't just walk in, ask people who you don't even know their email address for something for which:
- you didn't specify exactly what the app is about. You said is about messaging. OK, fair enough. Can we see some screenshots? What does it do specifically?
- you are not sharing the source code. Failing to provide screens, feature list is totally OK, but at least tell us where to find your code. I'm sure you're using either public/private repo. Someone could send you a temporary email address and you can give them access to it.
I understand it's your first experience for writing apps and in Java as well. This is not an incentive to give my email address to be honest! This should actually be an incentive for you to share the code with more experienced devs and receive some feedback.
Having some tester in the earliest stages surely helps, but *you* need to cut *us* some slack!
Just my opinion, peace and love!! -
@7Raiden well put, couldn't have said it better, if I've had the time to actually explain it.
-
Tasperen9886y@7Raiden I understand and I might over reacted a bit. My apologies. I'll post the repo and add some screenshots.

just upload it to google play and send a link but label it as alpha/beta testers only goddamn dude
