olback109816y@DLMousey Actually it's almost exactly £25. But yeah, 100/100 is fast enough for most people.

jfdev716y120€ for 1GBit/s DOWN and 500Mbit/s UP (this is one of the first fiber connections in Germany)
-
@finiteAutomaton also, most probably your network infrastructure couldn't keep up with the speed.

I have to pay the same to have 22mbit down- and 3,4mbit upload... German villages. Places where the "neuland" is not even visible at the horizon.. Danke Merkel!1!11!!!

What do you need that bandwidth for? Do you run a server or do you interact with huge data through servers on daily basis? Was your local infrastructure built for dealing that bandwidth? I wonder...

mojo20128146y@borderless ur not alone, I‘m living in a small village north of vienna, 2mbit dsl (unstable). But at least I got 30mbit lte ...

Great.
My SO and I are currently upgrading from 16MBit to 50MBit. More isn't possible where we live.
Hail to Germany, high tech paradise. 😭 -
@borderless Merkel isn't responsible. She's even lobbying for better infrastructure for years now.
A couple of weeks ago there was an interview with the CEO of Vodafone Germany. Much telling. It will get better, but part of the responsibility lies in the aftermath of the idiotic UMTS licensing auction. 50 BILLION Euro drained, that then could not be spent on infrastructure.
And that auction was in 2000 under Schröder. -
@Yamakuzure you are right. I dont really accuse merkel. It was sarcasm. Dont you know the "Danke merkel!!!11!!" memes? :D

@Gaveuxifort Downloading isos then. Really only switched because Bahnhof offered 10x the speed for the same price.
That's it, I'm moving to Sweden.
