@DrPitLazarus The pages are cached at Google, so you don't leave the search results. You have to use Google's JavaScript file or it doesn't count as AMP.

rithvikp2856yAMP pages are given better page rank in Google Search compared to non-AMP. So, in a way they are forcing web devs to use AMP. And since Google has a monopoly on search, there's not much we can do about it :(

endor57516y@rithvikp you can use a different search engine ;) That's how you break a monopoly.
Nowadays, google is so bloated with shit that I often struggle when looking for something specific. Bing is much better in that regard (yes, seriously), and even DuckDuckGo is not that bad.
I made the switch a month ago and I'm not looking back -
@endor lol there's no search engine that compares to Google.
All the others seems like archaic dog shit compared to Google 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ -
endor57516y@Stuxnet you know, I used to think the same. But for a while now I've been struggling more and more with very specific searches because google would keep throwing its useless bullshit in front of the things I'm actually looking for. It's gotten so "clever" by now, that it forgets how to do the basics.
With Bing and DDG I may not always get the search right on the first try if my search terms are too generic, but at least I get exactly what I want once I refine my search. It's not perfect, but at least I can find what I need.
Personally, I much prefer the latter two
Who actually uses AMP.
I think it's better to just not use much just at all
