Azure runs Red Hat, and RHEL runs on a lot of companies who don’t care for IBM. I think Suse will see a huge uptick if this goes through.
-
I think they said that Red Hat will still be open source within IBM, and production will not be interfered with. Only, RedHat will provide IBM with software infrastructure to move into hybrid cloud market.
This they have been doing since April or May this year. Hope they deliver on their promises though :) -
@sniped-sippet Well, I think the not so obvious thing about that, the reason why that report got my attention in the first place, is that IBM will be in total control of systemd.
No matter what alternatives there are, but all major distributions, including Arch Linux, run it.
... Which means they will all start depending on IBM... -
@Yamakuzure
PS: I was going through your projects. There is a mistyped url at https://prydeworx.com/projects/ which says guthub instead of github. -
@sniped-sippet Thanks for the feedback -> fixed! :-)
Well, that page is far from finished. There are many projects missing, and neither the front- nor the AboutMe-page are fully written.
I have very little spare time. And whenever I think I have cleared myself some time to work on it, issue reports rain in from somewhere. And of course all of them are super-duper important. :-/
