it sounds like he or she may just have low expectations for you or no respect. I would say go after the position and make a case for yourself. Maybe they don't know you want the position or feel like you don't want it enough?
-
@kfroemming I have explicitly told him I wanted the position, but he replied I could not be there since I am already a dev lead from a web team.
-
@pavloglez that sucks man. Is anyone on your team ready to take over? shifting you both and hiring a junior could save them some money and leave everyone happy.
-
@pavloglez you carreer belongs to you, not the company. If you really want to work as an Android dev you should look elsewhere for a position that suits your needs.
But if you want to stay where you are, do make a case for yourself and tell the boss you can deliver much more value to the company as an Android dev. -
at this point I'm just waiting for a life process I'm on right now to start moving not just from company but for residence, thanks for the advises guys!

My leaders asked me to run the technical interviews for a position I have been asking for since I got this job. Because I am the only in the team that codes for Android. Am I friend-zoned in my job ?
