    Reason for shutdown: Google+ had a major security flaw that left hundreds of thousands of users' data exposed. Google did not disclose the flaw in the spring, and as a recourse will close it's doors on the social media platform.

    @irene I kinda liked it even.. but I don't see any use for it other than just scouring some of the relative-to-me boards.

    @Haxk20 And why is that?

    @jespersh Well, if they don't know you, they can only show you the crappy "trending" posts. Follow something interesting and it's okay.

    I prefer g+ over facebook anytime, but I can't say I'll miss it very much either

    I'll give google credit, the idea of Google+ was brilliant, so many people have a Google account why not give them a place to socialise.

    BUT and this is a big but, the execution was bloody horrible, they tried to be Facebook rather than just be a social place for Google users, sad but glad to see it go.

    Orkut was v popular once in India and Brazil but they scrapped that off in favor of G+ which never got popular anywhere

    @irene I'm not a fan of its UI. It felt too fluid with all the subtle animations in the UI.

    @jespersh my home feed is full of porn spams / traps from accounts I never followed.

    One mass surveillance 'social network' less, awesome.
