hube6416yDepends what type of dev you are talking about, a lot are either pricks or selfish, or just want to be left alone...
Sadly :-/ -
silkfire1536yYour working place must be full of them? Unless you're not working as a programmer, then what are you doing here?? :)

Can relate. Used to have a friend who was a programmer (and a good one at that) but I moved countries... So yeah, sad times, and the only programmers I've met here are twice my age...

@Jilano About the time zone difference, it's an 8 hour time diff. Plus he has uni, so by the time he's done I'm in bed. We still email occasionally, but working together is much harder since by the time he finishes uni I'm in bed, and working with someone over email is not the same as in person.
About making friends with older programmers, I have no problem with that, I love to hear what they have to say since they usually have a good amount of experience and knowledge. It's just that, as friends, that can't relate as well to problems you might be facing, or some of the dumb code you occasionally write, because they're past that. -
That was actually my case until last year. Trust me it feels great when you have one, just make more friends I guess...

Throughout my friend groups, I’ve been the only one interested in computers. I wish I had a programmer friend to hang out with :(
