Enjoy! You'll never stop learning it (if you so choose) - the language itself is *huge*, and most tend to work with a strict subset of it.

We're learning how to translate C to Assembly in the first week of university. Meanwhile some other dude started learning us python. I almost fell asleep...

Probably school will teach c++03 or older. Try to learn modern equivalent of things as you learn in the class.
