I doubt they know HTML, they may have written it, but knowing it is completely different.

@Codex404 I feel this way about CSS. I mean I can write it and have it do things for me, but other than that I have absolutely no idea what it means. And I've been doing this professionally for a bit now too...

@BakerMcBaker Im a fullstack dev focussed on backend, but the amount of times frontend people ask me to fix some of their css is not countable on two hands.
Thats mainly because I read changelogs of browsers, get familiar with CSS techniques that will be implemented in a year. I can do quite a lot with CSS but Im not sure I can qualify as a frontend dev. -
@Codex404 same here most of the stuff I do as well is more back end focused too. I only do front end stuff when I have to. I enjoy doing it for the most part it's just that I know there are much better UI/UX people who are focused on that.
