But in case the code doesn't work well, you can improve it yourself. If it is closed source you have to beg the developer for a fix, and wait until some day he decides it's finally a good time to fix it.

It could be from an old disgusting sponge or fresh. You'd never know. -

Closed source software may (and likely does) have unwanted features. -
