My friend argues working on remote desktop is better than working on a local setup! Where should i bang my head? ⚒️😭🙈

    @2lazy2debug exactly. Also get the vpn going an you work from everywhere, on your session as you left it

    @2lazy2debug i am about full day development through remote desktop. I would die with input lags 😂

    A remote desktop via LAN is as good as a local one. If you are over the internet, ymmv

    Our latency to the online servers is 16ms with some solid bandwidths, I can't feel the difference.
    On some slower connections that could be a problem, that's right

    @2lazy2debug I love RDS but the cost thing is a trap. Most thin clients with enterprise support cost as much as a decent laptop ($400 or so for a cheap one last I checked) plus the cost of the servers and licenses and it ends up being about the same from a CapEx point of view. The savings come about from the mgmt and security side since you only have one or a few machines to update and the productivity side since your users can log in and work from any machine (that's particularly nice in BYOD situations)

    @PhiloticGhost $400 won't get you a decent laptop, I don't think.
