Took me a few hours, but managed to finally run Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 on my old school Toshiba laptop running Arch Linux xD Still needs some work, but super happy I got it running :D

    @oudalally yeah it took some headaches to finally get it working. I initially tried playonlinux using the official PS installer but ofcourse it wouldn't be that easy xD

    @oudalally you might give it another chance. I've been able to pretty much do everything that I do on windows in my Linux setups. Not exactly the same of course, but still a good experience. The only thing that really keeps me on Windows are Adobe products for the most part xD

    @oudalally haha yeah I totally get that. Linux for the desktop definitely takes constant maintenance, especially arch if your on the bleeding kernel. I both hate and love that part xD but yeah it's not for everyone.

    @konicm8ker now get away from adobe and go to affinity. Not sure how it runs on linux.

    It also flawlessly runs under Windows after about a 4 minute installation time.

    @intromatt lol what's the fun in that?

    @konicm8ker Oh, that's looking great. :D
    As you said that getting it to run wasn't as easy as expected can you please tell me what your trick was to get it running? 😌👌

    @gamingfail123 sorry for the late reply. I basically used the original installer and installed normally using playonlinux. But if you try to launch right after it crashes. So the trick is to use winetricks in a terminal and install all the necessary files, which I found in a reddit post, into the programs prefix location. A couple files I had to download manually into the prefix. After that it worked fine with only a few bugs.

    I never liked photoshop, it's a bit weird for me to use. Figma suits me better.

    I sometimes use photoshop in photo editing. But now there are more effective and multifunctional tools. Lately I've been interested in portrait retouching and this source has become my best resource in these matters https://photoretouchingservices.net/... It's great that now there are so many opportunities and supporting resources in the world of photography.
