You need to use Mono for a lot of shit on non-Windows platforms, but it has a lot of implementation bugs.
IIS is slow af.
SQL server is nothing but a big fucking issue.

@systemctl That's not really related with C# language features and this rant xD..but okay, WinForms is a very old technology buddy, something like jsf-jsp.

Modern .NET is a powerhouse. It's not slow and if you look at benchmarks it's faster than spring for instance. I learned java and spring first and it was okay experience but after switching to .NET I would never come back. To Kotlin maybe. This also goes for IIS. MsSql 2016 is also very smart, fast and feature rich.

Don't be mad please but if you tried any of this you wouldn't say things like this. You would say wow, this is actually amazing.

Also non related to rant, you do know that java requires commercial licence after 2019 while .NET remains free. Also you do know that MS had the most open source contributors, more than Facebook? They are contributing and are slowly changing policy of their company and for that I believe they deserve to be given a chance :)
