It was supposed to hang straight, but I drilled the holes the wrong place, so there wasn't enough space, and I didn't feel like doing it over

@Haxk20 help and advice is always appreciated. What I've done is to take the adapter that came with the led strip(the one in the picture), broke it apart, and took the pcb from inside of it. So I'm just asssuming here, but shouldn't that be safe? I'm literally using what came with the led strip.
And no I can't design a pcb, I'm really a noon at this. Just 2 months ago, I didn't even know the difference between volts and amps 😅 -
@Haxk20 you're most likely right, but currently I'm trying to learn so many different things in software dev, so for now my only demand for hardware is that it works 😅

Dude, that's a BIG safety hazard! The exposed power supply gives lots of opportunities for the 240V to go through the other circuits, causing a fire, or through your body if you touch it by mistake. Would be better if you kept the plastic enclosure.
Turn off your home breaker and get rid of that thing before that thing gets rid of you. Next time, use only power supplies that come with an enclosure (there are plenty of choices online) -
@KasperNS noob tip from a noon, use the trAnsformers as is and use a voltimeter to detect the positive.
place the voltimeter to 20v , if it gives negative volts back wire is positive , if it gives positive, the red wire is positive -

Cut the cable and place a female header.
You can get the pieces, or if you think you're still to green, get a USB extension and cut it in half.
To check the polarity, repeat as before, connect it to a power bank or USB charger (take care to not touch the wires or it will go puff) and find the + and -.

I've used a tutorial yesterday and It had a bug... used a byte of 255, starting from 0, in a for (i=0;i<=255;i++), and found soooo many bad tutorials now.
