Condor324966yFeel free to mention to them the video Tom Scott made on WhatsApp decryption.. it's a terrible idea. Governments being half a century back in terms of technology doesn't really help either.

C0D4681466y@Condor i get the “want” for being able to decrypt data for criminal acts, but you give these bastards an inch and it will be everything for any reason with enough time, and at the end of a day, a back door to data for 1 person is a back door to data for anyone.

Condor324966y@C0D4 exactly. It's a Pandora's box for everyone, and law enforcement sadly has a track record of abusing whatever power they're given, "in the name of justice". And let's not mention the interest of other nations' intelligence agencies...
@Frederick "nothing to hide, nothing to fear".. if only they knew the extent of the tracking that they're subjected to.
