F: So you study computer science... Could you recover my Gmail login data? I don't remember my email address, password or security question. (7th request to me like that from the same person, they don't bother to write down the recovered pw)
M: I can't do it if I don't know any of the above
F: Wow, I thought you're a good student... Could you at least create a new account for me?
M: But you won't even remember the new... [gets interrupted]
F: So, are you going to talk trash or get to work? You would have already been 50% done

PLEASE I'M SO TIRED OF IT. HOW DO I DEAL WITH THESE OTHER THAN TELLING THEM WHAT I THINK ABOUT THEM. I SEEK HELP

    Just because it's a family member doesn't mean he/she doesn't have to ask nicely. You're being asked for a favor. If it isn't being asked politely and graciously, you're well within your rights(as family etiquette is concerned) to say, "I was willing to help you but not now. Not with that attitude."

    it's not even talking shit and this kind of stuff. also it's not always help help help.

    it's more like:

    how bad do you really want it??

    for real it takes a 1 minute + of their time or of anybody's, and ++ some of their "nice" words..

    so win win situation is telling/showing them: you just know what's really up. And I'm telling you be smarter next time boi.

    I am tired of people putting away their freaking responsibilities and thus the life ...

    I personally note down all my family members account data because they always forget it. Whenever they wanna login, I give em the details

    @david-hil assuming op gets an apology this is great advice (as long as your account isn’t also gmail. Google has a scorched earth policy for ELUA violations. Even recovery accounts get banned) plus if they ever act up, you can lock them out. @Stuxnet damn straight. Just imagine if the shoe was on the other foot! OP, how would they react if you asked them for help in that manner?!

    I have 1 primary account that registered as backup account for other email and 1 account that backup primary account and that account is backed up by other email account, circular beybeh

    I avoid any tech talk with family at all cost - I don’t even really try to involve myself in family gatherings like Christmas. I just pop up for dinner and some goofs and gaffs. Then I leave again.

    When I used to live with my parents Christmas was usually referred to as backup recovery and reformat days.

    Tell your family member to read up on basic manners and how to take a L.

    Tell them that you have aquired near godlike powers. That you can create things other people only dream of. That you can manipulate information halfway across the globe that could have significant effect on a large portion of the human population.

    That should put them in their place.

    This kind of shit drives me nuts. I usually tell friends/family I don't know how. It's the truth! I'm going to Google it just like you should be.

    "What have you tried?" Is the best first question. If they are not willing try, neither am I.
