Try one of the Jetbrains IDEs? I used to use Visual Studio for C# but I've just switched to Rider (https://www.jetbrains.com/rider/) and so far it's working well.
It's EAP so not perfect, but may be a good alternative dependant on your needs. -

@drRoss The codebase I'm working on is 15 years old. Right now it works on vs 2008 only. We're porting the code to vs 2013.
In case you're wondering why no 2015, there are some internal reason for it.
