Would like to try that too, but I am all team Xbox.
However, getting a ps4 to see Linux running on it sounds tempting.

PS: Tools from OpenXbox DON'T require any modification to the console.

Why implement it in Python though?

@Krokoklemme It evolved from our initial python script that just sends a hard-coded bytearray to PowerOn / Discover consoles.
At that time we did not understand the protocol at all.. but well, we started from there, so python.

We are collaborating with somebody writing a c# version of the protocol.
