Was told the following by an "Information Security Professional"...

"RFC 1918 addresses will not follow a default route, default routes are only for internet bound traffic and RFC 1918 addresses are dropped by any router without an explicit route."

I honestly do not get paid enough for this.

@Dummybugger a default route is a route taken when there are no other routes that match the destination of a packet.

RFC 1918 (private IP addresses (10.x.x.x, 172.16.x.x, 192.168.x.x)) aren't routed across the public internet, but they follow default routes all of the time.

A default route literally means "if the destination doesn't match any explicit routes, send it to this guy".

I'm ranting because the guy that said it should know better.
