Google restricts their user base to Chrome by making it the default Android browser the same way Microsoft restricts users to Internet Explorer by making it the default Windows browser.

Is Apple getting fined because they make Safari the default browser? It's even worse than Chrome is in terms of usability.

Well. MS was forced to include a selection step showing all 5 biggest browsers in random order.

With windows 10 I think they no longer do this though.

But I agree, they should demand the same of apple. Even if android is bigger in number iphone is still bigger in turnover.

@Stuxnet the difference is that Apple is shipping its OS and browser to their own phones, whilst Google requires every brand to pre-install Chrome, even if they use their browsers (Samsung, lookin' at you).

The argument is that by pre-installing chrome on a phone, whoever is trying to launch their own super-browser-chrome-on-steroids is not getting fair competition from Google.

That's their argument...
