Just stumbled upon this channel of a woman called Jeri Ellsworth.. turns out that she's interested in HAM radio. This is something that I'm personally interested in as well, and seeing how the community here seems to have a keen interest in electronics, I figured that I might want to put it out there. After all, knowledge is to be shared :)

Also she's apparently self-taught as well which I think is really impressive. That's what - to me at least - separates the "I do it just for the money" people from the genuinely interested ones, and the spoonfed bunch from the curious few.

Jokes and SO trashtalking aside, I don't want this rant (edit: post, there's not really any rant content in here) to derail into stuff that doesn't cover the main topic - the channel recommendation. From experience I know that whenever posts go off-topic like this, the comment section tends to become trash and I often end up having to remove the post. I don't want that to happen to this one.

@BigBoo I've completely read it and fully understood it. I hope that the comment in that other rant clearly denoted that curiosity & making money is completely fine. We spend years honing our knowledge, of course we'd charge money for it.. and a fucking buckload at that. I am fine with that, heck I even encourage it as long as morals are maintained (e.g. customers aren't exploited for raw profits).

It's the ones that don't know shit about their field, have no interest in it and just come there "because it makes big money" that I hate. Very different things.

One implies that making money is an inevitable result of making our curiosity into a profession. The other implies that making money was the primary reason why some people make this into their profession. One I'm fine with, the other I am not.

Now, let's get back on topic already because this comment section is clearly derailing and I want to get it back on track. The main topic is - once again - a channel recommendation.

@Condor FYI, the way you worded it came of to me as you basically called me a faker. Since you basically only said you hated fakers and that was your answer to my question.
