MIUI is based on getting you to use Xiaomi services (and data gathering). Xiaomi makes awesome smartphones, but you just have to flash a custom ROM onto it.

Written on a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, LineageOS, although I'm thinking about trying Resurrection Remix.

Their whole business model is selling you great phones at a loss so they can make money from you on software services.
