Because you get the same specs for like half the price with any other model, more io, you can do whatever u want and if you want to develop for ios you can just load up a hackintosh. Also if you do mac/ios professionally youll get a device at work anyways.

makarand6017yI think it really depends on your needs and taste. Mac is goodness of linux combined with windows but the proce is often too high for the hardware you get.

The latest Macs also don't have standard USB ports anymore, so you'd have to purchase a USB-C to USB adapter...
Just... Don't. If you have money to burn and like the Apple asthetic, buy a Librem laptop. Don't keep Apple in business. -
otavio6167yMacs are great. It’s Linux without all the problems. I’ve been using Mac OS for 6 years and never had a problem with it. I recently had to change my laptop, I was thinking of going for another laptop because of the price, but I ended up getting a MacBook Pro cause I don’t want waste time setting up a hackintosh that may break between updates, that may have things that do not work correctly. And I couldn’t go full Linux because I want to develop for iOS and use some Mac only software.

py2js33777y@sharktits half the price is a bit exaggerated for MacBook air. Its an i5 with 128G ssd for about a 1000$ so I would say its about 100-200 $ costly than an average laptop. Hoping you won't get that slim laptop with those specs at 500-600$
