MacBook died, currently in the lab, have a TERRIBLE dual core T4200, 3GB ram temp laptop replacement with VISTA.

Which Linux OS should I replace it for Dev/uni sake for few days? Considering that I don't have too much time on my hand to fix the tiniest headaches that comes after a Linux installation.

Like I'm looking for a distro that just works and is good.

    @Revenger it's very open, you essentially build the distro yourself, and once you do it you'll understand it, it's hard to explain

    I prefer Lubuntu in this case ...

    Lubuntu gives life to old laptops yet providing handy desktop environment.

    I recently installed Debian with xfce on a really old laptop (single core CPU @ 2GHz, 2GB RAM) and have no problems with it.

    Bad computer will run OpenSUSE well. Esp. if you do a bare minimum install and install something like openbox on top

    I suggest Manjaro with xfce
