I think I'm getting old... I may buy an iPhone next because it "just works" and I don't care that much about gaming or need buy that many different apps...

Being deaf the voice transcription and better mic and camera... Now seem just worth the lockdown...

Thoughts?

Wait so your main purpose for getting it is because "it just works"?

Why pay $700+ for an iPhone when there's really solid Androids for half that?

@billgates I've got a southern accent that at times is really strong. Huge pain in the ass when using speech to text, but I have headphones in or they're close by 95% of the time. It definitely gets better with the mic of my headphones.

I will say, my phone's (Moto G5 Plus) mic is pretty shitty. I've got a low and kind of deep (but overall quiet) voice, which leads to it being hard for people to hear me when I'm talking on the phone. But I'm betting that is a side effect of a (then) $250 phone.

I've got a thick accent as well but the mic works pretty ok with the samsung s9. Don't know how you feel about the brand, but this fucker is fast af and works solidly with no complaints from my part. Battery is awesome, display is gorgeous and the sound is pretty ok. There are cheaper options that are really good as well.

@jhh2450 my use case would be I need a mic where I can put it in front of someone and say "Now speak to the phone"

@AleCx04 how much is an S9 though? (I'm traveling ATM so internet is slow AF... can't check, even devRant takes a few minutes to load). But I mean since already have a OnePlus (a GBoard is having a meltdown today...) Maybe I would just get an iPhone for the hardware quality... And well Samsung == samshit?

@billgates it is kinda the same shit not gonna lie there man. But it is a pretty solid choice. In regards to the price I paid 720 for mine, it ain't the s9 plus tho, which is more expensive, the reason being that I am not a fan of big screens. But yeah dude, pretty good phone. I really don't think you could go wrong with either an s9 or an iphone

@billgates its close yea. But its up to you. My mom still uses her iphone 6s and it works fantastic :) i would be well served with the iphone 8
