Korvax55708y@Gawk i have only used qwerty and i dont think i need to change it to other type of keyboard layouts
-
zshh38538yWhy would you change from a layout you're use to? I've been using qwerty for 20 years and it would probably take at least that much time to become as effective using something else, so I don't really see the point.

Gawk1028y@simeg I live in France and I only use qwerty for less than year right now, I still have the possibility to change easily.

P3t3r66608y@simeg Some layouts make it easier to code. For people with RSI for example, having to press shift/altGr a bunch of times in a day is not that great. There's one layout that was specifically made do code, but I can't remember the name. But I'm with you on the "getting used to it" part. The only reason I didn't change layouts yet is because I'm lazy af, and I feel like learning a new layout (properly) would probably take years...

kerith2968yqwerty, because typing speed is not a bottleneck yet for me (nor for many many programmers) xD
I'd rather work on my real botleneck, which is thinking good code.
however, I can see the RSI argument, some key combinations are painful.
Which keyboard layout do you prefer for programming and why?
Qwerty, Dvorak, Colemak, Workman, or even another one ?
