@zokazavevu Don't know surely. But look at those permissions, damn!

    What is UC browser? 😂

Yeah, these are a lot of permissions but I don't really see any "scary" ones. And you know you can turn some of them off right?
Most of these are just to edit the settings of different launchers.

@Haxk20 I think they are to be expected from a browser app. Or do you hate when your phone vibrates?

@Haxk20 Yes, it might sound scary but this is one of those permissions that apps can't use unless the permission is granted by the user. So if you don't like it, don't grant it. It's that simple.

There is however, many reasons why a browser would need this permission. Many websites needs it to work properly. Think about Google maps for example.

@Haxk20 isnt location settings activated to all browser? Even firefox is asking whether you want to share your location and camera.

@irene if I'm not mistaken, that permission is never granted to third party apps as of Android 4.0

@irene pretty much. Unless the app is part of the firmware.

@Haxk20 well js has an api for getting location so it needs that permission for this.

I already delete that shit browser long time ago

That list is scary, yes, but you have to remember permissions are broken on Android. A few reasons that come to mind are:

    - adding permissions prevent your app from being auto-updated by the Play Store. Think you might need a permission in the future? Better add it now or have user stuck in older version

    - before Android 5.0, there was no way to "ask" for a permission. A few apps are still stuck in that behavior (because implementing the code that check the user granted the permission takes time)

    - there are permissions which are required for some things you might not think. A lot of permissions are asked for things much more harmless than they appear.

if I remember correctly, it is on android 6+

This is too much if you compare to another browser. Imagine what data it can collect from those permissions. China will be so happy #paranoid #fuckthezucc
