The misguided #deleteFacebook bandwagon aside, could people bringing in other companies into the debate, start citing some sources for the statements/accusations being made.

P.S. not trying to force people what to do here on devRant, I just don't want this community to go down the shitposting, misinformation filled, pitchfork wielding route that most social media platforms seemed to have taken.

Much love, lazy

    Define the misguided/misinformation parts?

@linuxxx Certainly, misinformation I'm referring to here is the form of illinformed and/or strong opinion/bias centric debates/comments/threads found on many social platforms. Most of which are based on flawed logic and/or premises which are untrue. (Aware of the scale and pervasiveness of the issues, but believe that having healthy debate culture might be worth investigation as a preemptive measure)

@linuxxx Regarding the misguided - I am solely and intentionally focusing on the fact, that facebook has been the only platform which has been getting shit for the recent data leak debacle. For the said instance (look up facebook+cambridge analytica terms on search engine of choice for more details) that's completely fine, however the scale of the response and only targeting of one platform/company, seems misguided in my eyes as this isn't a "single company single issue" type of a problem (might post links once I'm more free) and is closer to almost being a norm in digital world/economy. I'm afraid that once the hashtag dies down and everyone forgets about the fact that same poor data protection practice's are everywhere, we're (for intents and purposes I mean persons in western hemisphere) going to back to square one.

@TheLazyDev At least you've got an informed/argumented opinion which I appreciate.

But I've seen the company who did this getting shitloads of backlash as well so not sure on that one...
