What's an Ubuntu laptop? Do they make hardware or do you mean a laptop running Ubuntu? (Serious question)
-
@ryanmhoffman A laptop with the Ubuntu software. I first bought that laptop with windows, but I didn't know how fast I had to switch to Ubuntu ;)

I like the UI, and the computer’s looks as well. I’ve loved Apple since I was a kid, but only got my first apple device four years ago.
I like it because many dev apps are only for macOS (like Sketch).
I’ve personally used windows xp, 7, Linux 12,+, and MAC OS X Mavericks up to High Sierra.
Obviously the best have been Linux and macOS. I love them both. -
ImCypher667y@dontPanic There literally is NOT a comparable touch pad. Even the new Windows precision drivers are weak compared to it. This is the first thing I tell people when they ask about my MBP

The fact that after years of use my mb pro 2013 model works like a fucking champ on everything from web development to mobile without fucking up. Yeah I can't customize the Ui to my hearts content, but that is why I still use Linux for, you don't really make that much of a drastic switch since OS X is a BSD descendant which means that you get a familiar terminal to what you are probably used in the glorious land of Linux. But man these things work and feel so nice. Even my ubuntu and arch laptops fuck shit up from time to time. But not my mac. It also looks professional. As retarded as it sounds, clients will respect you more based on the tools you use, and even if they are not aware of your snassy and flashy rvm or nvm or conda environments they will see the computer and think you mean business over the dude with the windows laptop with 800+ folders on their desktop(has happened in front of me, felt a little insulted that I was selectded just cuz of that, the other dude was good)

What I like most about my MBP, is the hardware. Most importantly, the trackpad. It is just not comparable to any other trackpad or touchpad at all.
I'm using an Ubuntu laptop for 3 years now. However, I've bought a MacBook Pro today, because I want to see how it works, and why everyone loves it.
So, I'm looking for people who also made this switch and what they had to learn and found strange at first side
And what they liked about Mac and what about Ubuntu?
