So when I was in 7th grade, my parents took the door away. Don't ask, they're just strict.

I got it back in 8th grade, but after that, it wouldn't latch. I tried fixing it for about 3-4 years, and no matter what I did, it wouldn't work.

So today I was desperate, and I loosened the screws from the door hinge. And guess what? Now it's fixed.

I wasted 3-4 years trying to fix it when all I had to do was loosen the screws.

It worked because the side where it latches is higher than the other, so I thought if I loosen the screws, it'll lower it.

And it did.

I know it was kind of extreme, but I guess they don't want me to get hurt. If they take the door away, they can check up on my whenever they want.

It was kind of useless tho. They spend 90% of the day at work, so I don't understand the point??

I'll never understand a parent's logic.

In India, it's like when kids get angry, they shut the door.
And, what they do inside the closed room often defines what they will be in near future.🤔

Is it an analogy or realistic door?

I had a broken door for a few years. I was in a fight with my brother, went to my room shut the door. He the. Proceeds to bang at the door and has somehow managed to beat a hole in it. As the rational person I am naturally I jumped out the window (first floor, like there's ground level and then one above), got the axe from our fireplace, went back in and upstairs and punched a hole in his door with it. Ah... Fun times! Love that guy (:

@Michelle my parents have this thing where I am not allowed to have my deck in my room. Or work in my room. Or have a computer in my room. So I am stuck with only being able to work in the busiest part of the house. Which sucks because they watch me, and I can't do voice chats or anything.

My parents were similar. I didn't have a laptop until 3 months before I turned 17, so I had to do everything on my phone, but I wasn't allowed to have my phone in my room.
They won't let me do video chats or talk to people online. I use Signal, Discord, and devRant in secret lol.

Now that I'm 17, they're being a little less strict. Instead of forcing me to go to bed at 8, I can go to bed at 9. They finally let me have my phone in my room, and I have a laptop now.

I guess it's because I'm a year from turning 18 or something. So if your parents are super strict now, it's because your 14. Parents usually become less crazy as you get older.

Hopefully. Although my dad really doesn't want me to have my desk and stuff in my room because when he was a teenager, he did all his work at the kitchen table

When I was 14, I thought my parents were going to be so crazy strict all the time, but I learned that as you get older—and show more maturity—they give you more freedoms.

Don't get too excited tho. I can't say your parents will be cool in the future. My mom never allowed me to go to the backyard, and guess what? :D

She still won't let me go to the backyard -_-

Yeah, but he could have seriously hurt his brother that way. I don't think it's safe for him to have an ax. It reminds me of The Shinning by Stephen King.
