I have been commenting a lot recently on linux ranters who rant about windows for stupid reasons.
To all these people who think linux is better and they are smart(er) than windows users, i say:
We use windows in the company I work for. And if you are a linux user, you're just not welcome and your skills are just a waste for the company. And yes it is a successful company with 100s of millions of euros as net revenue.
Our users have windows machines and we offer topnotch Microsoft solutions for them.
When you ask me to switch to linux because of a problem i had in a Windows machine, it makes me feel that you are a stupid person who knows about linux and gives solutions based on his stupidity and on zero knowledge of the scenario.
Please be professional and think about the solution you are offering. It would be best if you did not offer any solution at all in fact.

@h3ll i'm not saying linux users are stupid, not at all, too bad there's no edit button. Respect to all devs around the globe.
However i do insist that saying "switch to linux" without having a real background of the issue is a stupid thing for sure! and i wouldn't risk putting someone with such a high speed solution to be a part of my team.

I see rants every day hating on technologies that I love and/or use regularly. it's all in good fun! :)

I'm a long time windows user, and I love Windows 10, though it's not without flaws. I have nothing against macs, and I dual boot Linux (though I don't use it much). Everything has a use. The real cancer is fan boys.

I switched to Linux so I could learn it. can't learn it on windows (unless it's a VM) and I like using linux however I do have a windows VM set up for when I do need it. which isn't overly often.
windows, linux and Macs all have advantages as well as disadvantages.

@guyfork86 i'm not at all against any OS, the real issue is really what @AdamGaskins put better in his words.

@achehab I'm stuck using windows 10 right now. with that being said windows doesn't give enough access for me to be happy, it stupid proofs everything which for a consumer product that's perfect and aww inspiring but it hurts power users that know what they are doing. now I'll be a fun troll once in a while and say "install linux" but I don't usually do it unless the issue they are having from windows is because of the abstraction between the user and hardware that windows forces.

@achelab I do agree with what you're saying about people who try to force linux on others. one thing I can't stand is macOS! ...let the rants being 😂

    To some of the commenters:
i'm not against linux at all, in fact i had few courses which we were obliged to use linux. so i did code on linux, well not with your favorite tools, and you know what? It was fun and looked more original! but do u also know what? this doesn't make me wanna switch OS, every person has his own reasons to choose what he wanna choose; switching isn't just an easy passing word that should be used by anybody

    every tool for it's purpose...
windows, Linux and OSX, they all have a place in the system.
I've coded in windows, and for the last almost 10y been using linux.
when a colleague of mine that is coding In windows something that will run on linux and he has no clue of what it takes to run that piece of code in the server... that pisses me off! "it works on my machine "
pacepalm... because murdering is still a crime around here
