Cthulhu547ySame. I prefer light themes for small displays and dark themes for big displays.
Dont know why -
Hmm.. I've always associated the dark theme with people who spend their entire life in the basement, and the light theme with hipsters:D
+ The light theme is easier to see, when you have a bad viewing angle. -
I personally use the dark theme most of the time because I usually code indoors with either dim or white light and I feel having more white light being shot at my eyes makes my eyes tired faster. The only time I switch is when I'm coding outdoors and there's too much ambient light.

Herry437yI mostly use dark but recently i worked at a shitty monitor where i had to switch to the light one in order to see a thing.

I use light theme when I have to code during the day but as soon as sun goes down I switch to "Dracula theme" 😁

aritzh7537yI use dark themes for two reasons:
1. Light theme makes my eyes hurt after a long session
2. I just think it looks much better (completely subjective, though).
However, I have to admit that I'd rather see a light theme than a shitty dark one (like those with #000000 background and #00FF00 text).
I love mostly Solarized Dark, Darcula and Monokai (no specific order).
I always choose light theme in all my IDEs and unable to answer whenever some one asks why. Mind to share some of yours?
