A year ago I had no freaking idea of what JavaScript and jQuery is.

    There was a point early in my career where a more senior dev was using jQuery and I looked on in complete bewilderment. What was this magical code he was writing?! Day in and day out I'd try something crazy with js, fail, and he'd school me on how it could be done with jQuery in like 4 lines of code.
    It literally scared the shit out of me. "Other people know how to do this and I don't. I'm useless going forward. Career over before it started."
    Sure enough, he left and I had no choice but to take over and pretend I knew what I was doing.
    Here we are years later and I'd consider my jQuery mastered...yet it's ALWAYS something new. Now a new tool pops up daily that initially scares me (npm, bower, sass, grunt, gulp, etc.) but through sheer trial and error, you will get there.

    @fluffhead I am still a beginner in jQuery. Hopefully getting better with time.
