If you don't want a whole game engine but want some support for creating 2d/3d textured objects and controlling perspective/movement, OpenGL might be worth looking into

@jakobev yes, very easy and fast to get some results. But limited performance. Deoends how serious you are :)
But I guess I would use it to prototype a simple game with habd drawn graphics or something :D -

So, i want to dive a bit into game development. But firstly without a game engine. Just some small projects, like a short 2d game, to get knowledge.
Any suggestions, to do so?
