I've experienced several and usually just keep going and the excitement comes back. I do slow down some and take more time off during a burnout though.

I've had a few. They usually happen at the final stages of projects when the clients decide to add more unplanned features at last minute but refuse to move the deadline. Usually I take a holiday abroad and go somewhere nice.
Latelly I've been finding that these happen too often due to people not managing the project/client properly, so I'm thinking about looking for a job at another agency and hope that it will be better.

jasee18yI have learned that it's a cycle and I usually know that it's temporary and accept that if I don't have ruts, I wouldn't feel the wins.

Thank you all. The last couple of months I was experiencing my first burnout and it really scared me because I didn't know what it is. I am much better now but I still try to come back 100%. This community really helped. Thanks to all for sharing.
