Impossible for me to code on bed. I end up being lazy. When you are actually concentrating and coding I actually prefer a larger / dual display and for sure my desk and chair.
-
At work, with headphones on, so I can ignore people who try to talk to me.
At home, with nobody around. -
@EpIcInCoGnItO Really?! No headphones? Wow...
I can work without music, but I get in the zone faster with music.
Also agree with you on dual display, desk and my chair. I pity the creature who dares to change my chair settings... >:( -
@ulaikamor In india it's not that usual to get jobs that give you the freedom to use and listen to music.
-
My iMac, attached Cinema Display, studio monitor speakers, backup drives, printer, keyboard mouse and countless other shit won't fit on my bed, so I guess at my desk would be the answer.
If I had a choice and a MacBook it would be at a beachside bar with good wifi and waitress service, definitely not in the UK, the UK is always damp. -
@helloworld Lol so much for the detailing. You sir deserve a cookie. btw I use a wireless mouse.
-
Macbook on my bed too ^^ with good music playing on my boxes (got a separate hifi system)
-
@EpIcInCoGnItO haha 😂. Packaging it would be a pain. It took me a while fay to lay out those cables around my room. I would need to move my whole interior for it. Sorry on that :(
-
@EpIcInCoGnItO you are welcome here, if you are in Germany for any reason, mention me on devrant and I'll show you around :p
-
@SirWindfield Do all the awesome devs come from Germany. lol my good friend is also from there. :) 👍👍
-
@EpIcInCoGnItO haha trust me, I am not that awesome. I may have ok-ish ideas but I generally cannot code that well. It is probably a design based problem, I find it hard to model my programs in a good way (api) before doing the actual code.
I am also just coding for fun. Started in school (8th grade I guess or seventh), I am studying business economics paired with electrical engineering. So it basically has nothing to do with coding, though that I still love coding. But tbh honest I couldnt see myself doing that the whole life. So ye. That's my story.
My current project is quite nice tho. A Ruby she'll program that (if given a specific folder containing music files) uses regex based matching of the file name and a database back end to find out which parts are representing the artist and which the song title. Than it changes the id3 tags to match them. I download a lot of music (copyright free music) from yt and editing those tags by myself was a pain. -
Either in my office with the lights off, headphones in and my feet on my desk or on my back patio while enjoying one of my favorite cigars.
-
me too on the bed.. me and my laptop's positions changes every 15 mins or so :p
-
justgage1228y@EpIcInCoGnItO dang, that's some bad culture. "we want to interrupt you anytime you start to load up stuff into your head so you have to start over"
-
tysa43038y@poop-destroyer haha I have a small bed-table I put my laptop on while coding. but I'll admit, it does make me lazier 😛
-
tysa43038y@EpIcInCoGnItO oh I wish I had a dual display 😯 would have made so many things so much more easier !
-
@justgage Yes happens a lot in developing countries I guess. Too many people for the same job.
-
@tysa Well it was only when my pc stopped working when I decided to use its display to connect it to my laptop.
-
justgage1228y@EpIcInCoGnItO hmmm interesting. I've never thought about that, thanks for bringing me some perspective
-
@justgage It's just like that. When there are too many people for the same spot then at times you need to sacrifice.
What is your place of preference to do coding? mine is on the bed
undefined
where do you code?
