That's not right. Fuck corporate bosses like this one... why even hire the guy if you need him immediately for a stack he's not familiar with. I get it if he demonstrated great coding and learning ability in his other stack but for fuck sakes! This is just going to cause him to have great stress and rush things rather than do them right and learn the conventions the best he can. Fuck corporate bosses like this one.

RageBone5997yYou as his manager or superior, or what ever should stand up and make this right.
If you don't, you are not only making it worse for him, but your credibility will suffer, and a lot more bad things will start to creep into your worklife.
Do it m8. -
jsMonkey5687yThey'll be alright, the boss doesn't expect them to be totally up to speed for a while, and I'll pair program with him on this first project
Easier to learn by doing than by reading framework docs anyway
Told the new hire that for the first week they can just familiarise themselves with the JS framework, do the tutorials, and read through the code / docs.
Boss comes by Tuesday morning "you should be finished with all the tutorials by the end of the day"
Looks like we're throwing him in the deep end!
Context: new dev has Java and 3d games background. Our app is full stack JS
