To stay on topic tho, i always was a java guy, tried getting into php a few times (because hey, its probs the most useful web skill there is), but it was so illogical to me, even when i tried oop php. I really wish i was somewhat decent at it :/

@rostopira not professionally, just to have something else i can play around with, java gets a bit boring sometimes
-
@BindView mobile - Kotlin. Big data - Clojure and Scala. Java is really boring as hell, but if you choose right language which is compatible with java libs - you are ready to go faster than ever ;)
-
@rostopira yeah or maybe ill just not do that because kotlin is terrible and i use haskell for data
-
@BindView I've started to learn haskell, but found Clojure more pretty. And I don't think haskell have such a lot of lbs, as Java

yuz147y@Lahsen2016 Java isn't used for desktop applications anymore, but mostly for servers.
Every other server-side language Also requires the user to install a VM to run it's code on the server.
Finally, if Java desktop applications are still your thing, go ahead and wrap your jar in an executable (many solutions for that out there).

I learnt a bit of Java recently. I wish I didn't. Because I primarily work with php. Now I kind of dislike php.
