    @AlexDeLarge thank you. 💕

    Also because most of the times you copy the "$ xx" command and "$" isn't recognized as an executable.

    @HAlex I had set everything up. Then wondered why phpmyadmin isn't working... After some search I found how to destroy my work and start over...

    Rule 2.
    There is one exception to rule 1 and that is with this command:
    >sudo rm -rf -no-preserve-root

    And yes I made a typo in the command so no problems would occur for people.

    I did like how my phone suggested the whole command after typing sudo.

    Quick tip. Put in a # before you paste (if it's one line only ofcourse)
  • 1
    @Pavr what's that for? Comment?
  • 4
    @Divisionbyzero yes that way if the line you're pasting has a newline at the end it just get typed in as a comment.

    @Pavr I've always used #text as history tags for commands, so I could easily repeat them using things like ctrl-r and !?#text 😉

    Prefixing with # doesn't safeguard against newlines within the clipboard though. It's rare that the part after a newline constitutes a valid command, yet still watch out whenever you are pasting anything.

    Fish helps with this :)

    @jamesharrington what?
  • 2
    @Divisionbyzero fish is good for your brain. So it makes these steps easier. ^^

    @Codex404 yeah... sure.... oxygen is good for brains too... 😅

    Zsh does not let me do this.

    @Divisionbyzero

    Referring to friendly interactive shell.

    @Divisionbyzero I was talking about the friendly interactive shell. FISH it's pretty cool I use it in all my computers. It takes a little bit of getting used to but I prefer it over regular shell or zsh
