Anyone out there building / maintaining their own propietary CMS? Is it worth the hassle, or would switching to an open-source system be better?

This piece of junk is old and built with almost no design in mind. Now that we have to maintain it for 150 websites, it's becoming a huge support and maintenance pain.

So sick of dealing with stupid stuff, I'm just about ready to drop the whole thing and build on WordPress.

    Unless your business is CMS use an existing one but if you go for wordpress, have a look on some of the cms plugins, they add a lot if nice to have features.

    OctoberCMS is really nice, my boss found it clearer than wordpress.
