Btw Ruby learning was one of the best things ever and Rails remains king im my book for quickly creating shit.
Introduced me to mvc, tdd, api generations and lots more :) would love to work on it again for a project in the future. -
Don’t call yourself filthy! Otaku-ism is a way of life! I set my phone locale to Japanese and use w3m cause it’s made by a Japanese.
Wait... That sounds more like a weeb than an otaku. But I’m Asian! (◍˃̶ᗜ˂̶◍)ノ"
That said, I actually set my phone locale so that I can learn the language and w3m is the first terminal browser that I’ve used and never found the need to use others. -
b3b343777yI learned C(++) because its the only language that I can actually pronounce more or less correctly.
[Ciiiih], right? -
@Japorized i have been trying to learn Korean and Japanese for such a long time ;____; its hard as hell man ;___; and yeah I agree, otaku-ism is the way of life, one of my fav things to do is to let some of my fav animes run on the tv while I code, it is slowly becomming the only way in which I can concentrate.

I learned BATCH at first because someone told me it was the ultimate "hacking language". I was sitting there for four montags trying to figure out the most POWERFULL virus. Ended Up with Something that shut down your Computer.... Not very proud of that 😥

@AleCx04 I’ve only started learning the language for about two years and just taking my sweet time with it, sort of. Playing Japanese games (including VNs) and just paying attention to conversations in Japanese have helped me a lot, but that’s possibly due to my background in other languages. My vocabulary is still bad tho imo.
And damn, I thought I was the only one with putting up anime as a background for work (study in my case). Just gotta love putting up a conversation-based anime and do my own stuff. -
@koin ?? I’m not sure what my name has to do with what we discussed here. The J in my name does not stand for Japan 😂
-
koin5887y@Japorized in some languages japon stands for Japan so I thought japorized is japon + rized like colorized aka japorized 😂
-
@koin Ah, that’s a valid thought. But my name originates from the word vaporized 😂Just replaced that v with a j

Someone commented that they originally looked into Python because he/she liked the way the name sounded (Python sounds cool)
I got one better, I originally researched Ruby because it is Japanese, and I am a filthy otaku
