MotAtlas2027yThey have a lot of problems it seems. I have an elite book workstation and it's great, but I know a lot of people who have a product from their consumer line, and they all had problems

-vim-31687yMy aunt, who’s actually an old programmer (she lived the creation of C, and programmed in BASIC, COBOL (like seriously 😒) and Fortran (ok that one ain’t that bad)) had a touchscreen hp all-in-one thing, on win 8. When they recommended to upgrade to win 10, she did. And then, every time the computer went to sleep, the screen got super dark until she restarts (which takes ages). To fix the problem, I had to search through the hp forum and find a 2 years old (I think) old thread of people having the same issue and still no support from hp. I realised that even if it had been recommended, win 10 was not supported so I had to install a win 8 driver and fiddle with settings and all that 🤬stuff to fix the problem. I almost just installed Linux and completely clear windows.

decent hardware, bad chasis, zero to no support for consumer grade devices.
bottom line: works well for corporate, does not work well for the home. -
I used to love them. Hell i still have my hp pavilion that came with windows 98. Hp just doesn't make them like they used to

squirvel2067yFor newer hp computers I can't say too much, but for a while every hp unit I encountered had shit thermal paste that had to be replaced after a year or three

In fact I love HP, and from consumer hardware experience I mean...
The only problem is with Windows, the driver shit just doesn't work well beyond 1 year...
Why everyone's against HP's laptops?
I have one and it does his job quite well
