For a web developer that wants to try mobile development, which is better, native (java-swift), or react native?

I’m here for this too. Someone come through with an opinion

I would say react native, as not only does it allow for a quite faster and simpler development (imo), but you're also already familiar with the languages it uses.

@fcatarrinho also if PWA’s become the future then it’ll all be JavaScript anyway. I’m new to development and I’m not exactly sure how promising PWA’s are so this could be a bullshit assumption by me.

@Nilo-jxn what is PWA? Sorry I am lazy

@arch-chroot progressive web apps. I just heard about them the other day. It’s interesting for sure. Google it when you have time.

@Nilo-jxn Yeah, i do believe PWA are the future and whether we like it or not JavaScript is here to stay in all kinds of development (i like it 😁)

As a purely native (Java/Kotlin/Swift) developer I'd say:

React native for someone with a web background. Personally I'd never use it but it's an easy way to get into it with a JS base.

I'm thinking of giving nativescript a try. Not a fan of react.

If you have experience with react give react native a try.
