I once published my app in 5 am in morning while working whole night. I just created a Key and password at that time and published my app. The next day, I had to update my app, and I forgot the password. That was the most stressful moment :/ I can feel the pain brother.
However after some hours of searching I found a brute force method to retrieve password from keystroke file.
You case is a bit more serious though.

I am so damned paranoid of this that i have it uploaded inside Git under a private repo, dropbox, Google cloud storage, drive, onedrive and have it inside my pc, laptop and two portable hard disks. I'm mad ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Use the recently introduced Google App Signing to get rid of this problem once and for all.
