Is it just me or Star Wars has become way too family friendly and milked

More of just you. Theres a scene where you can see chunks of a person's body flying around in the new one. And another that involves someone being cut in half. If it were family friendly, they'd cut that out.

@jhh2450 true that, maybe just a lil' cringy

Family friendly? No. Just filled with unfunny tryhard "jokes", logical errors which break the whole saga's story and dialogues that are too dumb for a 10 year old.

I'm a big SW fan but I won't watch episode 9 after this shitshow. If they don't get their act together the next movie will be on the same level as the holiday special.

@deadlyRants Don't go so tryhard next time and the movie might actually he enjoyable. 🤷

The new Star Wars films feel like a fan fiction, or a parody.

They are fun and enjoyable, and quite good. But they don't even come close to the original trilogy.

Rogue one was the best so far, probably because it was set in the Empire era and not in the First Order(ridiculous wannabe imperials) era.

At least they are better than the prequels.

Star Wars has always been kid friendly movies, but you were probably a kid when you first saw them so you've got fond memories and don't recall them being that way.

Still great movies, enjoyable by all types and ages.

@f7u12 No. They had some cringy humor, yes, but they weren't filled to the last scene with it.
The original trilogy limited jokes mostly to the droids and sometimes Han, now every single person in the movie is forced to be funny, no matter if it fits or not.

And I hate how the imperials...uh, first order guys are stupid as hell. They even had Snoke utter a weak excuse of why an idiot like Hux is in that position. And apparently they put cardboard turrets even on their largest destroyers, the empire was at least smart enough to use some armor. And the commander of that dreadnought would have been force choked before his birth if Vader was his boss. If the first order wouldn't suck a new superweapon out of their fingers every 20 minutes the resistance would casually destroy them within a movie.

You kids need to Google a little gem called "star wars Christmas special", it's from 1978 I think.
The star wars episode that Lucas doesn't want you to remember 😛

@nbamaral I know that one. The cartoon part is better than episode 8. Because at least you could laugh about it(and it's the reason Boba Fett exists).
